How to Make a Perfect Cuban Coffee

What is it about Cuban Coffee? Dark, strong and sweet. This recipe can be made with a stove-top espresso maker, which is found in most Cuban homes. You can also use an espresso machine. Use a finely ground espresso roast. I encourage you to experiment with the quantities of coffee and sugar to find what you like best.

Ingredients

- about 4 table spoons of espresso coffee, finely ground
- 2 to 4 teaspoons sugar
- about a cup of water

Directions (Stove-top Espresso Maker)

Add the water to the metal base and put the metal cup on top. Add the coffee to the metal cup and tap down on the grounds a little. Then screw the top of the pot on firmly. Inside the top of the pot you can add the sugar. Close the lid of the pot and put on the coffee on high heat. When the coffee percolates it will mix with, and melt the sugar to make a delicious pot of coffee.

Directions (Espresso Machine)

For the espresso machine you can add the coffee to the chamber and on top of the coffee you can add the sugar directly. When the coffee enters the pot it will already have melted with the sugar.
